NMPASI Program Staff:
Jimmy Sablan - Program Manager
Jimmy G. Sablan a/k/a “Big Tuna” joined the Northern Marianas Protection and Advocacy Systems Incorporated (NMPASI) team in 1998. After serving ten years as a Client Advocate under the PADD, PAIR and CAP programs, Jimmy starts FY 2009 as Program Manager for all of the seven programs being administered by NMPASI. Asked about his experience with NMPASI Jimmy stated, “The past ten years have been very positive and fulfilling for me professionally as an Advocate and personally as a member of the community. Prior to joining NMPASI, my involvement in the disability arena was very much one-dimensional having more to do with direct and one-on-one assistance with family members or friends with disabilities. Being a part of the P&A team has presented me with a similar yet different role which is more advocacy and systemic in nature. I truly believe it is a vital systemic role especially in our island community where the extended family support for our brothers and sisters with disabilities is gradually slackening."
